Bowling

Is a sport that will attract everybody. But to thow a ball and successfully hit all skittles is entertaining but not always easy.

Bowling track has three parts:

-          sliding, rorating and arc.

Parts are named according movements done by ball in particular section.

In a first section, ball is sliding because this section is oily, ball is rorating in second section and trird section is totaly dry, ball is making an arc.

History of bowling

In 1930 British antropologist Sir Flinders Petrie found objects in egyptian site that can be concidered as prehistoric forme of bowling. Therefore we are confident to say that invention of bowling is dated in 3200 B.C.

Even though opinions on this issue are different it is certain that in 14. century A.C.,there was an English game we can surely concider as Middle ages form of bowling. In this period of time many various games with skittles existed and lot more games where ball was thrown to hit different objects.

There were settelers from England, Denmark and Germany who have brought first variants of bowling to America where it has become very popular. However its destiny has not been so simple. In 1841 in state Connecticut, bolwing was prohibited by law.

Despite of the this fact or we might say thanks to this fact, its popularity has been growing. Nowdays more then 100 milions people are interested in bowling in more then 90 countries of the world.

Game description

The goal of the game is to hit 10 skittles by throwing a ball. Skittles are in a distance of 18,5 metres set in a triangle shape.

Bowling ball weighs from 3,6 to 7,2 kg.

Bowling is a point game. You are gainig points during game and participiants with the highest number of poits becomes a winner. Every game includes 10 rounds with 2 shots in it. One extra shot if all skittles are hit in last round. If participiant hit all skittles in first shot, ho does not have another one.

Choise of ball concentration and throw

Diameter of holes and distance between holes are very important issue. Classic bowling ball is carried by two fingers and thumb. Fingres are put into holes til second joint and full thumb. Palm is touching surface.

While the ball is thrown it is not important to watch skittles but the trace.

Ball is supposed to be trown in moment when foot reaches certain point in a bowling trace.
